You will be assigned to research one of the alternative approaches to back pain. After you have completed browsing through the case and viewing the videos, please use the resources provided to locate one research-based article from the health science literature. Your article will deal with the alternative approach to Mr. Cooper’s back pain that you were assigned. Do not use a review article or a clinical case study article. Locate an article that describes an experiment done by the authors that has data on the effects of the treatment.

The article you use must be unique. No student can bring the same article to class as another student. Also, if you are in the Mind-Body group, you are not limited to hypnosis. You can select an article dealing with any Mind-Body therapy.

Bring a copy of your article to class. During class, your group will have the opportunity to review all the articles located and to build a case for your approach. Your spokesperson will present a summary of your case to the whole audience. An article analysis form is HERE. You can prepare for class by answering the questions posed on the form for the article you locate.
