This web site is a part of the course GNRS 6319 - Suffering: Cultural and Spiritual Perspectives. It is the part taught by Dr. Rodger Marion. The menu links on the left will open PDF files in another window, except for the Rodger's Office link. This last link goes to his virtual office. The people in the photograph at the top of this page are survivors of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. They are living in a tent city as their homes were either destroyed by the earthquake or by the fires that followed. They are making meaning of their situation and striving to leave suffering behind.
